Norma Hill is the Chief of the Compliance Laboratory in Walnut Creek, California.
A native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Ms. Hill graduated from Simmons College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Ms. Hill brought to Federal service more than 13 years of experience in private industry. Her background includes positions as a bench chemist for Amtech Laboratories, San Diego, California, a chemical technologist with Scott Paper Company at their Westbrook, Maine research facility, a Process Engineer for Louisiana-Pacific Paper Company in their integrated pulp and papermaking facility in Antioch, California, and a senior chemist with the Cal/Ink Research Division of Flint Ink, Corporation, Berkeley, California.
She began her Federal career with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) in 1991, as a chemist in the Alcohol Section of the San Francisco Laboratory Center. She was appointed to serve as the Acting Chief of the Alcohol Section in March 2000 and received the permanent appointment in March 2001.
