John Brockman

Director, Training and Professional
Development Division

John Brockman is the Director of the Training and Professional Development Division for the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). In this capacity, Mr. Brockman is dedicated to enhancing the future of the agency by facilitating the professional development of employees through a wide range of training courses, developmental programs, guidebooks, and instructor/student materials designed to fully develop the TTB workforce from time of hiring through employee departure.   

Before joining TTB, Mr. Brockman served six years at the Defense Contract Management Agency in a variety of training and professional development positions including Director of Workforce Development. 

Mr. Brockman began his Federal career at the Office of Personnel Management as a Personnel Staffing Specialist.  He has more than 25 years of  experience in Human Resources including; Personnel Staffing Specialist at the Department of the Army performing examining work; Personnel Management Specialist at National Cancer Institute performing staffing, classification, and employee relations work at an operations level; and Personnel Staffing and Employee Relations Specialist at the Defense Logistics Agency performing staffing and employee relations work at a HQ staff level.

Mr. Brockman is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he received a B.A. in Public Administration. Mr. Brockman and his wife, Debbie, live in Virginia with their two daughters, Laura and Lindsy.
